I have been thinking a lot about Single White Female lately.

Great movie. It is, in my humble opinion, one of the underrated classics of my life right up there with Shawshank Redemption, Training Day, The American President and any other movie that always seems to be on TNT. Exactly the sort of movie you can watch at any moment. The movie is down right creeps me out but in a good way. Rent it, see what I mean.

John Calipari just took a 8 year $35M contract to coach the University of Kentucky Basketball Team. I will grant you this is a lot of money to coach the most storied basketball program in the country. But you have to think about what he's walking away from. He's the biggest thing in Memphis. The local NBC affiliate had a 24 hour camera on the Athletic Dept all week just hoping to catch a glimpse of him. He was king of his own hill and they did not want to lose him. At the last minute, the founders of FedEx tried to jump in with booster money to help keep him in Memphis. None of it worked

Here's what they could not factor in, no money in the world can make up for the Hedy complex. Rick Pitino is his Allie. The custom Italian suits, the greased up hair, the foot stomping on the sidelines. Cal just wants to be Rick Pitino.

How creepy is that?
